Why are there so many names? Why is it called the Black Death?

A long time ago a little after the plague started the historians gave the plague the name the "Black Death" because the plague wiped put thousands of people from Europe, Africa, France, and England so pretty much all over the world, in all different places, people were dieing from these bacteria that no one could cure.  I bet they were trying very hard to find a cure though because people were dieing left and right all over the place!!

So many people were dieing and they couldnt find a cure, I mean really! The streets were full of dead people. but the reason it is called the plague is because "plague" is a latin word for plaga. Plaga in latin means wound. Usually if someone died in there house the neihbors were the first to know. because of the disqusting smell drifting from the windows and doors. I would probably throw up!

  1. You are right it is very confusing to have two different names for the same disease! Where there any other reasons historians call the Plague "The Black Death"?

  2. It must have really smelled bad if they were full of dead people. I probably wouldn't throw up if there was a dead person in my house but i would be disgusted.
